About
Cátia Alves held the Integrated Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Management in March 2012 at the University of Minho and a Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering in December 2017 at the University of Minho. She is an Invited Assistant Professor at the University of Minho (UMinho), and an Invited Assistant at Instituto Politécnico do Cávado e do Ave (IPCA). She is an integrated member of research laboratory 2Ai – Applied Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (IPCA) and a member of the research center ALGORITMI (UMinho). Her current research interests are in Industrial and Systems Engineering and Technologies, focusing on Production Scheduling, Real-Time Management Systems, Ubiquitous Manufacturing, Agile Manufacturing, Virtual Enterprises, Production Planning and Control, Production Management, Large and complex Production Networks, Industry 4.0, Cyber-Physical Production Systems. She is also a collaborator in applying the Social Network-based Education (SNE) and Learning Factory methodology.
